Our 23 Guest Rooms are delightfully decorated with antiques, wicker and original art. Many bathrooms still have the original Claw-foot Tubs and antique “Pillbox” commodes . 

Guests may choose between rooms having a private bathroom “en suite” with either one double Queen-size bed or two single Twin beds”. Or, our “European Style” rooms which have a standard Double bed, a small wash- stand in the room and the shower and toilet separate, shared “down the hall”. 

The Vintage birdcage elevator connects the four floors, and historical photographs ranging from the heroic to the absurd line the halls, adding to the old world ambience.

Rooms with a private bathroom, having either one queen-size bed, or two single twin beds are $225 Smaller rooms having one standard double bed or two single twin beds with a small wash-stand in the room and a separate shared bathroom “down the hall” are $150. Rates are subject to San Francisco Hotel Taxes, currently 16¼%.

We do not believe in “dynamic pricing”, or, as the Airlines call it, “load maximization”. We do not increase our prices during peak season, nor for special events, preferring to keep our rates fair and reasonable for all of our guests year-round. As such we have a very high proportion of returning guests and word-of-mouth referrals.

Fresh flowers and the aroma of baking cookies are everywhere. The complimentary Continental Breakfast of coffee, tea, juice and croissants is served in the downstairs Parlor – or on a tray in your room - a civilized start to the day.
In the afternoon guests gather to enjoy tea and home- made cookies – exchanging stories of the day with each other as well as with PIP, the household cat – a relaxing way to end a busy day of sightseeing. 

We delight in helping with sightseeing itineraries, dinner reservations and offering suggestions of what to do and where to go while in The City. Extras from iron and ironing boards to bathrobes to office supplies to champagne flutes are readily available.

Reservations are guaranteed by a credit card number or check in the amount of the first night’s charges.  The cancellation period is 48 hours prior to arrival. In the event of a late cancellation or no show, the first night’s charges apply.

Check-in: Rooms are generally ready by 3pm if not earlier. Feel free to come and drop off bags anytime. Check out is 12 noon however we are happy to hold your bags if you have a later departure. 

Please note that our hotel is entirely NON-SMOKING.
